Here we are as 2018 is winding down, at least the soft water season. I hope to get out a few more times yet though. Maybe I’ll get a chance to turn this fishing year around before the Phoenix gets put away. Having said that, it’s been one of the toughest years of fishing I’ve had in a long time. Kevin and I missed the Renegade Classic for the first time in a number of years. Rather than get us down we are more determined than ever to turn it around and have a banner year next year. Kind of sounds like a Leaf fan doesn’t it. Business wise, we had an incredible year. That may be tied in to the tough fishing we had as I just didn’t take the time away from the store that I should have to prefish. Sandie can certainly look after things. I just need to give up control a teensy bit. For the first time ever, we are closing the store for 2 weeks, the first 2 weeks of January. The buying show we have attended the last number of years has been moved to Nashville, so we are tying that trip in with a bit of a vacation. We plan on seeing the sites in Nashville for a couple of days, then drive to the Phoenix plant and get a tour of their facility, and finish off with a day’s fishing on Guntersville if the weather cooperates. To say we are looking forward to this trip is the understatement of the century. November 15 we are having an information night sponsored by Shimano. There will be a powerpoint presentation followed by questions and fellowship. The presentation will start at 7pm. Our customer appreciation day is slated for November 17. As always turkey will be deep fried on site and weather permitting there will be boats on display. Keep an eye on our Facebook page for more details as the date gets closer. Finally, our first event of 2019 will be held the last weekend of February. All the items from the buying show should be in by then so there will be lots to see. That’s all for now. I promise to really really really try to keep this page updated more often. Enjoy the fall and stay safe out there. Ed & Sandie
